Movie Review "Grand Torino"

 Would love to grow up to be like Clint Eastwood after watching this film. Eastwood the director, Eastwood the actor, Eastwood the invincible, Eastwood the old man.

The film highlights the need to remain open minded to others throughout life particularly as you age. We see that others can be in situations that are unavoidable and there are ways that we can help without realizing it. We see this development in Eastwood as his character opens up to others and in the process helps them but even more important helps himself in the process.

Movie Review- "Sully"

Hi Movie Fans!!


Firstly the film is technically perfect. What Clint Eastwood shares with Ron Howard is that they are both actors-turned-directors who consistently make technically perfect films. What they also share is a penchant for taking larger-than-life people and literally making them much-larger-than-life on the big screen. After this, you will feel like you have known Sully as long as his family. In the presence of such directorial talent, it is easy to overlook the casting choices. In this case, I suggest that Hanks may not get the credit he is due. This may be the best performance of his career. He sets a deer-in-the-headlights tone early; and by mid-movie, the viewer starts to feel as paranoid as his character. Amazing performance. Recommended for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that it is one of the best films of the year.

Movie Review "Million Dollar Baby"

Hi Movie Fans!

Today I'm reviewing an older movie released in 2004.

After re-watching it today I knew it was a movie that had to be promoted!

The film is about a waiter in a Missouri town who is very working class. Maggie the waiter decides to join a gym owned by Frankie Dunn. After training hard every single day in the gym she finally convinces Frankie to train her. Despite constantly stating he "doesn't train girls." Eventually after months of training Maggie goes professional. Becoming a champion.

The story is impeccably written, but more than that, the director who also composed the lovely music score, brings a rare degree of humanity to the intensely moving conclusion. The firm won four Oscars and is truly a reflection of the American Dream.
