Movie Review "The Godfather (1972)"

Hi Movie Fans!

Today I'm going to be reviewing a classic and possibly one of the best received movies of all time. Set in New York in the late 1940's Marlon Brando plays Vito Corleone the "Godfather". He is the head of a mafia family which runs an organised crime ring. Al Pacino plays his son who enlisted in the navy to fight in WW2 turned a blind eye to his father's business. The movie begins with Michael coming to his sisters wedding , where he returned as a war hero. Michael guards his father as there was a murder attempt by a rival gang which he barely survived. Outraged Michael insists to his father's goons that he should be the one to take revenge for the actions against his father. After taking revenge on a police officer and fellow Italian American, Michael seeks refuge in Sicily his ancestral home until things cool down in New York. His father names him Godfather and head of the family towards the end of the movie. The Godfather has 2 more parts where Michael is godfather and a little bit of history as to how Vito got to New York but well save that for another review.
